Jaguar Classic will create six matched pairs of E-types to celebrate the iconic sports car’s 60th anniversary in 2021: the E-type 60 Collection.
In tribute to the E-Type’s 60th anniversary in 2021, Jaguar Classic is building six matched pairs of 3.8-liter cars.
The E-Type 60 Collection is an homage to the two original 1961 Geneva launch cars. A gunmetal grey Fixed-Head Coupe was driven overnight from Jaguar’s Coventry factory to the event by PR manager Bob Berry, arriving just in time for press demonstrations. Demand for test drives was so high that test driver Norman Dewis was immediately dispatched from HQ to deliver a British Racing Green Roadster.
Six replicas of this brace of E-Types will be built at Jaguar Classic Works in Warwickshire. Each will be based on a ground-up restoration of an existing 1960s 3.8-liter E-Type painted in Flat Out Grey or Drop Everything Green to commemorate those original drives to Geneva. Current design director Julian Thomson is also adding a few 60th anniversary celebration details.
The price for the pair hasn’t been announced, but if you have to ask then you probably can’t afford it.
