Hangouts and the Hagerty Hill Climb Kick Start the Classic Car Season

As spring finally gets into its stride, the car calendar is filling up and Hagerty is doing its part by hosting a trio of exciting events for you to join in on.

Having just marked 40 years of championing the classic car community and announcing our Radwood Index, the Hagerty Clubhouse will open its doors for two cracking evenings of automotive entertainment in May.

On Tuesday 14 May we host our first Hagerty Hangout for fans of German cars and culture. Volks Night will be a celebration of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche and, of course, Volkswagen. Like all our Hagerty Hangouts, the event is limited to 50 cars with the £5 ticket price including a free drink for the driver. Volks Night will run from 6–9pm and you can get your tickets here. Lederhosen optional.

Just two days later, on Thursday 16 May, the Clubhouse will welcome a motorcycle racing legend. An Evening with Steve Parrish kicks off a run of special events where stars of the motoring world will join us to talk about their lives on the road and track. Steve won his first championship in 1976, was teammates with Barry Sheen in 1977, and won the British Championship in 1978. Later switching to truck racing, he became the most successful HGV racer of all time. Steve is well known for his pranks and sense of humour, so expect a hilarious evening. Tickets are £20 per person and available here. Later in the season we will be joined by journalists Steve Cropley and Henry Catchpole, so mark 16 July and 17 September in your diary as well.

But before all this is the annual Hagerty Hill Climb at Shelsley Walsh on Saturday 11 May. Held at the oldest motorsport venue in the UK, it’s a chance for members of the Hagerty community to drive their cars up the famously challenging course in the company of like-minded enthusiasts. Find out everything you need to know about taking part here and then buy your tickets here.

With more Hagerty Hangouts at the Clubhouse, Festival of the Unexceptional, and Radwood to look forward to as well, our May events are just the start of a busy summer of cool car culture.
