It’s easy to think of classic car clubs as a recent phenomenon, but there are plenty still going that were founded many decades ago. Take the Lancia Motor Club for example; in 2022 it’ll be celebrating its 75th anniversary. And it’s stronger than ever with a membership that spans the globe, with a fifth of members based outside the UK. Catering for any Lancia from the earliest models in 1906 to the latest, if you’ve got a Lancia this is the owner’s club for you. Lancia set out to make the best-engineered cars in the world and with every generation of new model it tore up the rule book and created a new model range. The Lancia Motor Club reflects that with something for everybody.

The flagship event of the Lancia Motor Club’s year is the National Rally and AGM, which this year will take place on 23-25 July in Oxfordshire. Most of the other events put on by the club are organised by volunteers in the club who put on touring and navigational drives to give members opportunities to use their cars and meet fellow Lancia owners. The club also takes part in other big events such as the Silverstone Classic, NEC classic car show, the various Italian car days that take place around the UK, and other multi-marque gatherings.

As a sporting marque it’s only right that the Lancia Motor Club gives its members the chance to exercise their steeds as much as possible. A Goodwood track day exclusively for the Lancia Motor Club is held every year, and the club also supports other motor sport activities such as the annual Rally Day at Castle Combe, various hill climbs, and circuit racing at the Silverstone Classic.

Tim Heath, the Lancia Motor Club’s press officer told Hagerty about the initiatives the club works on: “The club’s primary purpose is to encourage the use and preservation of Lancia cars and to facilitate the provision of spare parts, information and advice. Run entirely on a voluntary basis to keep our costs to a minimum, the key reason for most people joining is for access to the huge amount of information and data that we can provide.

“We’ve got 21 model advisors who cover Lancias from Appia to Ypsilon, taking in everything along the way, including the revolutionary Lambda, the brilliant pre-war Aprilia, the stunning post-war Aurelia, and the rally-winning Fulvia, Stratos, and Delta integrale. Our librarian can supply technical manuals and handbooks and we’ve got a tool hire scheme too. We also work with various groups and companies to facilitate the remanufacture of obsolete parts, to help keep Lancias on the road”.
