Revving up for Kop Hill Climb

Hagerty are pleased to be one of the sponsors of this year’s Kop Hill Climb, held in the heart of the beautiful Chiltern Hills.

With more than 400 historic cars and motorcycles running up the hill, and numerous car clubs with displays, we anticipate that this year’s event on 21 and 22 September will be a stunning day out for enthusiasts. And, with features ranging from the Soapbox Challenge and ‘Wall of Death’ to a children’s fun area, numerous food vendors, its own “Kop Hill Climb Ale” and a historic fly-past by the Battle of Britain memorial flight (weather permitting), you can see why more than 14,000 families and ‘petrolheads’ turned up to spectate in 2012.

Kop Hill has been the scene of a challenging hill climb since 1910 when it was one of the United Kingdom’s premier motorsports venues. Kop Hill continued to be at the forefront of competitive UK motorsports until 1925 when a well-documented accident on the Hill stopped all motorsports on public roads in England.

The local enthusiasts who revived the event have continued to grow the event’s size and importance, raising more than £125,000 for charities to date.

On the fifth anniversary of the Climb’s ‘Revival’ the organisers will continue to demonstrate their heritage both in terms of the remarkable venue but also in the technical progress of the motorcar and motorcycle.

We hope you can join us for a memorable day out at Kop Hill Climb.
